What a Drag—Ooo! La! La! Look at all those pretty, pretty ladies. Sinatra-Devine Productions brings their annual Come Out drag queen spectacular to the National Hispanic Cultural Center (1701 Fourth Street SW) this Friday evening, Nov. 4. La Novela Negra—Several of New Mexico's greatest practitioners of the mystery novel will make an appearance this Saturday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. in the Willard Reading Room of UNM's Zimmerman Library. Rudolfo Anaya, Fred Harris, Tony Hillerman, Virginia Swift and Judith Van Gieson will reveal some of the secrets of their dark craft. The event is part of the Center for Southwest Research Open Doors Centennial Lectures series. For details, call the center at 277-6451.

Gifted—Give the gift of art by dropping by the Yale Art Center (1001 Yale SE) sometime during the month of November. The center is putting on a special holiday show featuring a variety of handcrafted jewelry, drawings, prints and other artsy fare that will make ideal gifts for art-lovin' friends and family members. All items will be reasonably priced. The show opens Friday, Nov. 4, with a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. If you can't make it to the opening, the center's regular hours are 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday with special weekend hours—11 a.m. to 3 p.m.—from Nov. 12-20.
