Pet Love—Many people take their relationships with their pets more seriously than they do their relationships with other people. And why the hell shouldn't they? Do pets bomb foreign countries? Do they drink all your beer? Do they leave the cap off the toothpaste? Of course not. You and your pet(s) should stop by the Mariposa Gallery this Saturday, Feb. 11, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for a benefit for Companion Animal Rescue and Medical Assistance (CARMA). The two, three or eight of you can get a family portrait painted for $20 from noon to 4 p.m., or partake in a silent auction, with all proceeds going to CARMA. Ten percent of all of Mariposa's sales that day will also go to the group. For details, call 268-6828.
