Point and Shoot—You've got plenty of time, but you'd still be wise to get started now. The deadline for our Third Annual Photo Contest is Wednesday, March 8, at 5 p.m. Trust me, it'll be here before we know it.

I've been getting a lot of calls about format requirements, so now might be a good time to provide some clarification: We don't have any. Actually, this year, we don't have any categories either. Anything goes. (Although we will give preference to local scenes and personalities.)

Send your photos to Alibi's Third Annual Photo Contest, 2118 Central SE, #151, Albuquerque, NM 87106. Maximum of five entries per category per person. Please include your name, address and a daytime telephone number and/or e-mail address. As always, we encourage readers to send along brief descriptions with their photos to provide context for bewildered Alibi readers. Submissions will not be returned. You've been warned. Winning entries will be reproduced in our March 23 issue.

Get crackin'!

Pull Some Strings—El Museo is opening a tiny new theater called Teatre Petit, and they're christening the space with a full-length puppet play called Amabantur, performed by Puppet's Revenge. In English and Spanish verse, the play is based on the Latin myth of Eros and Psyche. The main characters, I'm told, are Marilyn Monroe and Elvis. The opening night benefit show is Friday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m. $20 general, $8 seniors/students, $5 kids. The run continues on Feb. 18, 24 and 25 at 7 p.m. $10 general, $8 seniors/students, $5 kids. Special pay-what-you-wish shows will occur on Feb. 19 and 26. For reservations, call 216-0918.
