Shakespeare didn’t write Romeo and Juliet in a day, and chances are he had some feedback before he declared it finished. For those of you aiming to be the next Shakespeare (or Hemingway or King or whoever), there are a few local authors offering events to help you on your linguistic journey. This Friday, Feb. 8, Mark David Gerson, author of the sci-fi novel The MoonQuest , will discuss and sign his new book, The Voice of the Muse: Answering the Call to Write , from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hastings (12051 Candelaria NE). Then in March, Alibi book reviewer and novelist Lisa Lenard-Cook is offering an eight-week fiction writing class for aspiring wordsmiths.
