The festival will run for roughly three weeks, from Nov. 3 through Nov. 21, at the Tricklock Performance Space, the Vortex Theatre, the National Hispanic Cultural Center and UNM's Theatre X. Mainstage events include a play by Lou Clark, Admissions, at Theatre X (Nov. 3-6 at 7:30 p.m.); a mini-festival of short plays called Out of Bounds at Tricklock (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Nov. 12-21, at 8 p.m.); and All the Time and Juanito, plays by Don Garcia, at the National Hispanic Cultural Center (Nov. 11-13 at 8 p.m.).
In addition to productions of student work, several special events will occur during the festival that are well worth attending. Dionysus, a satirical review featuring sketch comedy, musical numbers and vaudevillian acts, returns after a four-year hiatus. This will be performed Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m. throughout the duration of the festival. And Obie Award winning experimental playwright Mac Wellman speaks at Theatre X on Saturday, Nov. 6, at 2 p.m. following a staged reading of his new play, October Surprise. (The Wellman event is free.)
