The Sweet Taste of Free— As I’m sure you’re already aware, Global DanceFest is back in Albuquerque courtesy of the fine folks over VSA Arts of New Mexico. This time around, some of the featured performers will be offering classes to local dance enthusiasts. The best part? The classes are absolutely free.

If you’ve got a pair of happy feet that are itching for some extra action on the dance floor, consider heading over to UNM’s Carlisle Gym this Saturday, March 10. New York City’s Stephen Petronio Company will be offering a master class from noon to 1:30 p.m. to be followed by a workshop led by Hafiz Dhaou and Aicha M’Barek from Tunisia.

Sexy and 19— The Rio Grande Arts and Crafts festival unleashes its 19 th edition this weekend at Expo New Mexico. Considered one of the better arts festival in the country, it features more than 200 artists and artisans from all over the nation. It’s expected to draw around 25,000 people, so bring a helmet and some elbow pads to ensure efficient maneuvering through the large crowds.

This year, the Pink Elephant Theatre Magic Show and Recycle Man will provide entertainment for the kids, and a variety of talented pianists will offer musical diversions for grown-ups. There’ll also be numerous art demos, door prizes and food samplings. Admission is $6. A three-day pass will cost you $8. Kids under 12 are free. The festival runs Friday, March 9, through Sunday, March 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For details, call
