For instance, opening Friday, May 15, at SCA Contemporary Art (524 Haines NW) is the world is flat (driving in my car I think of you) , a show that looks at what’s not there and the "disappearance of location." Curated by Paula Castillo, the world is flat features Castillo’s work along with that of David Gunter, Adelita Sedillo and John Updike. The opening reception goes from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and the show runs through June 7. scacontemporary.com.So let’s say you go to SCA, but you just can’t make yourself go home because you’re in the mood for drag queens and high camp. I feel you, and I suggest the latest Dolls production, Die Mommie Die, at the Desert Rose Playhouse (6921 Montgomery NE). Written by Charles Busch and directed by Andie Riegler, the show opens Friday, May 15, and runs through May 31, with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15, and you can reserve your seats by calling 881-0503.Also running the next two weekends is Melanin , a new play by Terry Gomez at the VSA N4 th Art Center (4904 Fourth Street NW). Set in 1965, it asks the question: If there’s a water fountain for whites and one for blacks, which one do you use if you’re Comanche? The play runs May 14 through May 30, with shows Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 general, $8 students and seniors; Thursday, May 14, is a pay-what-you-can preview.
