The fearsome threesome of Aux Dog Theatre’s resident companies—Ka-HOOTZ, Sol Arts and Goodpasture—presents the Live 4 Art Festival , 10 weeks’ worth of theater wonder and goodness. The summer-long fest gets going on Friday, June 26, at 8 p.m. with a performance of Any Night Live , a series of sketches featuring the work of Ka-HOOTZ members and guests. Following the show there will be an opening night party. Also this weekend are performances of Four , a play about the collision of four lives produced by Sol Arts, on Saturday, June 27, at 8 p.m., and Art, Goodpasture’s production of the Tony Award-winning play, on Sunday, June 28, at 2 p.m. If you can’t make it this weekend, that’s OK, because you have nine more weeks in which to do so. Wow. They really want to make sure you have no excuses. They might even give you a ride. See the complete lineup at auxdog.org.

In more wholesome threesome news,
3 rd Street Arts (177 Third Street SW) unveils its newest show, Three Cool Chicks , on Friday, June 26, featuring the work of Native American artists America Meredith, Melissa Melero and Marla Allison. Their work is contemporary and thoughtful, and 3 rd Street Arts—a nonprofit community arts center—seeks to bring them to a wider audience. The opening goes from 6 to 10 p.m., and after that, the work is available for viewing by appointment. Contact Russ Riekeman at 306-0535 with questions. See the artists’ work at ahalenia.com/color.

And do you live with people ages 6 to 12? Do they refuse to get a job? Have they proved to be utterly incapable of taking care of themselves / driving / making you a drink? Well then for the love of Dada, send them to art camp!
Harwood Art Center’s Art Camp still has two more sessions to go. Session 3 is from July 6 to 17 and Session 4 from July 20 to 31. These are filling up, so don’t miss the chance to have your child learn everything from collage to capoeira to clay to filmmaking. There’s empty space on your fridge that simply must be filled. Go to harwoodartcenter.org for a registration form and for more details.

There’s still room for arts interns ’round these parts. If you like to write, enjoy the arts and believe that smiles are payment enough, you might be just the gal/guy/cylon. E-mail me at erin@alibi.com with a writing sample and letter of interest.
