Manhattanites Ryan Deussing, Zachary Levy and Benjamin Dailey decided to turn the tables on the Bush administration with a brilliant deck of their own called Bush Cards. The three men, all of whom are filmmakers, have transformed each key member of the administration into a card. The ace of spades, of course, is George W. Bush himself.
The deck looks a little bit like the Iraqi one except it's more educational. The cards include a photo and a job description of each administration member, but they also include a brief interesting tidbit about the idiot in question. On the ace of hearts, for example, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld delivers the quote: “As we know, there are known knowns. There are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns. That is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns, the ones we don't know we don't know.”
That pretty much sums up our national security strategy under Bush, doesn't it?
The design on the back might be the best part of the package. These depict George W. with an idiotic smirk on his face surrounded by four icons: missiles, a dollar sign, oil wells and a pretzel. A picture, in this case, really is worth a thousand words.
The cards can be ordered from www.bushcards.com for $6.95. Ask your local independent bookstore to carry them as well. Bring them to your weekly poker night. Give them as presents to distant cousins who you haven't talked to in decades. Pin them to your wall. By doing so, you'll be doing your part in the global effort to kick these jokers out of office before they ruin our world for good.
