“What did the little bird say as it flew over Gorilla Tango Comedy Theatre?” Answer: “Cheap! Cheap!”

Sorry, that's bad, really bad, but I want you to know that laughing your butt off has never come so cheap. Gorilla Tango—the swanky new Downtown entertainment venue—has decided to dramatically cut the price of admission on its improv shows. What this means is that while you used to have to fork out $16 bucks for a Gorilla Tango show, now you'll only have to scrape together $6, six measly bucks, to get in on the GT action.

As always, every show is different each and every week. Gorilla Tango has also expanded its concessions with a new assortment of baked goods and freshly brewed coffee provided by nearby Café au Lait. Check out www.gorillatango.com or call 245-8600 for details. Better yet, just stop by the theater Wednesday through Saturday at 8 p.m. to take in a show. Gorilla Tango is located at 519 Central NW.

Dracula is all over the place this month. The Count seems to be suckin' neck on every street corner in Albuquerque. The Vortex Theatre's late night comedy sketch show, Eat, Drink and Be Larry, is presenting a horrifically funny parody called Dracula Goes to College. Written by Jason Witter, Aaron Frale, Jessica Osbourne and Rusty Rutherford, this one should appeal to late night hipsters who habitually stay up into the wee hours shunning sunlight at all costs. Fridays and Saturdays at 10:45 p.m. through Oct. 30. $6. Donate blood at Albuquerque or Rio Rancho United Blood Services and get two tickets for the price of uno. The Vortex is located at 2004 1/2 Central SE. 247-8600.

Three smokin' lady poets come to the Blue Dragon Café (1517 Girard NE) on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 5 p.m. to share some of their latest verse. Lisa Gill is the author of the fantastic sonnet collection Red as a Lotus (La Alameda Press). Kat Heatherington teaches poetry at UNM. Rachelle Woods' poems have been found on the Poets for Peace CD and in publications like Central Avenue and La Manzanita. This should be a good show. 268-5159.
