The New Mexico Arts and Crafts Fair has all kinds of work from a ton of different artists and, as a bonus, it’s outside, so you’ll get a sweet sunburn while you shop. Head over to Expo New Mexico (Central and San Pedro NE) Friday and Saturday, June 25 and 26, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., or Sunday, June 27, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It’ll cost you $5 to go one day and $10 for a three-day pass. Presidential fun fact! Thomas Jefferson’s slaves joined the British during the American Revolution in order to try to gain freedom. That probably won’t come up during The Vortex Theatre’s staged reading of T.J. or the Publick and Private Intrigues of Thomas Jefferson and his Illustrious Circle , but you never know. The play, written by Mark Dunn, explores the people and events that surrounded Jefferson in 1804. Because it’s a staged reading you’ll be able to pay attention to the story instead of the silly wigs!
