Tricklock’s New Home Good news, theatergoers. Back in November, Tricklock’s Co-Artistic Director Kevin R. Elder told the Alibi that the company was looking to open a Downtown performance space. That vision will be realized at a soft opening for Tricklock Performance Laboratory (110 Gold SW, next door to The Box), featuring three short plays from alumni of the company’s Manoa Project: Teen Playwriting and Apprenticeship Program. The triple feature, A Digital Silhouette , explores relationship dynamics in the tech age through the works of Dani Mettler, Kyle Paoletta and Shannon Rogers. Tricklock members will act and direct, and shows run Friday and Saturday, June 22 and 23, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 24, at 2 p.m. All performances are $10. Look for the new digs to be officially unveiled in August. Art of the State This weekend’s New Mexico Arts & Crafts Fair is all about recycling. Let’s start with the financial edge: The 240-odd exhibitors selling wares all reside within this state, so 100 percent of the estimated half-million dollars in revenue goes directly back into our local economy. Then there’s the theme of the 51 st annual show. One of three halls in the Manuel Lujan building at Expo New Mexico (300 San Pedro NE) will be filled with not-for-sale recycled works by about 35 artists. There’s also a children’s portion of that exhibit that festival Executive Director Ron Behrmann says includes a 9-foot turtle made out of egg cartons. (I’d say that’s worth the $5 price of admission alone.) Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
