Another year, another Ugly Sweater Revue. That’s right, Duke City Repertory Theatre is at it again beginning on Thursday, Dec. 6. For the third year running, the crew at DCR bring the bawdy and the jolly together on a single stage promising to be “the spike in your December eggnog.” Not convinced yet? The show is explicitly 18+ and Red Door Brewing is on-site to make sure you truly get into the holiday spirits. The revue runs until Dec. 22, every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at AirDance ArtSpace (3030 Isleta Blvd. SW).
Meet students, faculty, alumnni and others in Room 142 of the Studio Art Building on UNM’s campus beginning this Thursday Dec. 6 for the Print Club’s 24th annual print sale. Here, you’ll find a wide variety of artists working with equally diverse concepts and imagery offering up their limited run prints. There is work in many price ranges, and almost every piece comes with the opportunity to shake the hand of the artist who made it. The sale runs from 10am to 6pm Thursday and Friday, with shorter hours of 11am to 3pm on Saturday, Dec. 8.
Haley Greenfeather English
The latest offering at Vitrine (214 Sixth Street SW) opens up on Friday, Dec. 7. The show is dedicated to the work of Haley Greenfeather English, a visual artist from Albuquerque whose latest work explores friendship and connectedness. The show, Attachment Theory, runs through the end of the month—take it in at Friday’s reception starting at 6pm.
The ongoing series Coffee + Creatives is gearing up for their first ever “unconference”—that is, a series of conversations and informal workshops that address the needs and concerns of the creatives in Albuquerque. For two years Coffee + Creatives has been doing this work through monthly meet-ups, and during the unconference, this wisdom is condensed into four days of exchange, collaboration and conversation. The conference takes place Dec. 12 to Dec. 14 at various locations (head to facebook.com/coffeepluscreatives for more details and to find individual session event pages). The whole thing kicks off on Monday, Dec. 10 at Tractor Brewing Wells Park (1800 Fourth Street NW). Beginning at 6pm, creatives mingle and share snacks, followed by a short talk and Q&A session with Ayanna Nelson-Freeman.
