Found Objects Loud Sound Story
Being overdressed when the cops show up is rare in Albuquerque, but opening this Friday, April 19, you can find just that on stage in Albuquerque Little Theater’s production of the Neil Simon farce Rumors. Directed by Henry Avery, this play is filled with jokey stuff surrounding a well-to-do anniversary party in New York that’s marred by inadvertent gunplay. Rumors runs Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm April 19 through May 5, with Sunday matinees at 2pm. General admission tickets are $23. Albuquerque Little Theater (244 San Pasquale SW) has labeled the show PG-13, which is fine because kids probably aren’t going to get the jokes anyway. The Bard’s tragic, cautionary tale of poor promotional decisions takes on a new dimension in Othello: The Remix for one night only at Keshet Dance and Center for the Arts (4121 Cutler Ave NE) on Saturday, April 20 at 6:30pm. Brought to you by Scaffolding Theatre Company and the International District Economic Development Center, join Othello, Iago, Roderigo and all your favorites as they rap their way through this classic without caring a fig for those stuck on traditional approaches to Shakespeare. It seems inconceivable that someone could still see windmills as something they are clearly not, ascribe to them magical attributes and believe that it is their righteous, God-approved duty to rid them from the Earth, but more than 400 years later Don Quixote de la Mancha still holds up. Join Instituto Cervantes Albuquerque as they celebrate Miguel de Cervantes and his classic work during Semana Cervantina from April 23 through April 27. Festivities begin with a lecture titled "Spain and the Independence of the United States" by historian Tom Chavez on Tuesday, April 23 at 7pm at the National Hispanic Cultural Center (1701 4th St SW).
