If you are sick of taking pictures with a lens on a camera (or your phone) and are ready to look into another way to create photographs, then check out Nancy Spencer and Eric Renner (co-founders of Pinhole Resource) at their pinhole photography demo this Thursday, May 16 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Albuquerque Museum (2000 Mountain Rd. NW). This demonstration is part of Albuquerque Museum’s Third Thursday events that include food, drinks, music and yoga in the sculpture garden. Creep, careen or catapult yourself about the state of New Mexico this weekend for three days of fibrous fun at the 2019 New Mexico Fiber Crawl from Friday, May 17 through Sunday, May 19. Feel the tradition and the latest in contemporary design from loominous textiles to handwoven homespun as you tour the finest fiber farms, studios and galleries New Mexico has to offer. Found Objects Pump It Up

Three actors and three chairs fill the stage for Irish playwright Abbie Spallen’s gas station drama Pumpgirl at Mother Road Theatre Company (6320 Domingo Rd. NE Ste. B) on Friday, May 17. Don’t miss this final production of Mother Road’s 11th season, where the main character is billed as one “who walks like John Wayne and looks like his horse.” The black humor and blue language are sure to leave you with gasoline-soaked dreams of Irish borderland storytelling. Doors open at 6:30pm for an opening night gala filled with food and drink. Curtain is at 7:30pm. Tickets for mature audiences are $30 (students $25). Found Objects Southern Exposure

The National Hispanic Cultural Center (1701 Fourth Street SW) brings South American folk and fare to the Fifth Annual South American Folk Fair this Sunday, May 19 from 2pm to 7pm. South American foods will be available, sure, but the big draw are the dancers representing Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela.
