Inspired by the Colorado court case where a baker refused to make a cake for a same-sex wedding, this Bekah Brunstetter play directed by Janet Davidson will make its New Mexico premiere with two-for-one tickets available through July 18. Treat yourself, cocktail in hand, to a rare glimpse into the Bioscience and Geoscience Collections of the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science (1801 Mountain Rd. NW) for the fundraising event Scientific Illustration: The Intersection of Art and Science hosted by Matt Celeskey on Friday, July 19 from 6pm to 8:30pm. Tickets are $30 for the general public, $25 for museum members and everyone not only gets a free drink ticket, but also gets to try their hand at scientific illustration themselves with the supplies provided. Seven chalk artists will take it to the street (or adjacent sidewalk) for a sidewalk Chalk Art Fest to transform Tulane Drive between Central and Silver, starting at noon on July 20 outside Tractor Brewing in Nob Hill (118 Tulane Dr. SE).
