Being an adult isn’t so bad. I mean—you can eat whatever you want, and you can buy it for yourself, stay up all night if you feel like it, call in sick, sleep all day. And now you can take advantage of some of Warehouse 508’s programming, even. One of Albuquerque’s beloved youth entertainment and art venues is now extending the invitation to “grown ups” to come participate in workshops and connect with other creatives. On Nov. 18 from 6 to 9pm the 18+ crowd will gather for a variety of workshops like screenprinting and painting each led by local artists. Billed as the “best date night. Ever. Ever,” so you know all available space will be widdled down to nothing quickly. Reserve your spot (and one for your date?) at warehouse508.org/adulting.html. If you miss it, sign up early for the next one on Dec. 8.

Found Objects Look To The East

EDo, East Downtown, Huning’s Highlands. Whatever you call it, you recognize the old Victorian houses of the little neighborhood that is spread across a handful blocks on either side of Central Ave. Tucked into each brick of these historic homes and the sanitoriums-turned-hospitals up the street are some of Albuquerque’s formative stories. These tales will be culled from imagery at the opening of “Mansions, Motoring and Millennials,” a new exhibition at the Albuquerque Museum (2000 Mountain NW). The public opening of the show will take place from 2 to 4pm on Saturday, Nov. 18 and feature The Temp Tats duo. Curator Ann Carson will be on hand for a talk about the works featured in the exhibition just before the reception at 1pm. More information is available online at cabq.gov/museum.

Found Objects Touchstone

It’s time again for Albuquerque’s most mystical pop-up. On Sunday, Sister Bar (407 Central Ave. NW) hosts another of the monthly curated experience that is Moonstone Pop-Up. Between 4 and 8pm on Nov. 19, a host of local shops and women-run small businesses table their wares. This time around those vendors will include the likes of Jett Bullock Ceramics, Astroqueer, Andy + Edie, Curioser & Curioser and Lust for Dead Oddities. While you shop clothing, skincare items, jewelry and art, DJ Cassyle Carr is on the decks and as ever, Sister’s staff will be serving food and drink. If you haven’t made a space for Moonstone in your Sunday afternoon, you aren’t doing the weekend right.
