Jump, dive, leap into your 2008 New Year’s resolution to listen more attentively to the creative muse chiming in the back of your head. With the New Year come new gallery shows, new theater company seasons and opportunities for new artists to come out of hiding … like these:For visual artists, Art Gallery 66 in Bernalillo is seeking entries for its second annual Mi Corazon exhibit and silent auction to benefit a charity organization. Each participant is asked to decorate a 12-inch wooden heart, provided by Art Gallery 66, in any way the artist wishes. Also, VERB Collective (3400 Constitution SE) is seeking submissions for a political art exhibition to open on Jan. 12, 2008. All media and points of view are welcome to join the show; just bring your work and a short artist statement between Jan. 1 and 5 for consideration. If you’re interested, have one monologue no longer than two minutes, one a cappella song and a résumé with a headshot ready to go by Jan. 5. Auditions will be held Jan. 5 and 6 with callbacks on Jan. 12. You must set up an appointment, so give Vic Browder a call at 480-9627. Also, the Adobe Theater is hosting auditions to fill six male and six female roles in Harvey , to be performed in late March and early April.
