First, I must extend my thanks and congratulations to all the photographers who submitted works to our fifth annual Photo Contest this year. The high quality and artistic merit of the entries made for some nerve-racking judging, but, somehow, we narrowed it down to the winners found in this week’s feature.With that said, all you shutterbugs with incredible eyes for composition should submit your work to Matrix Fine Art’s juried exhibition of photography opening in July. Matrix is accepting works by any photographer living and working in New Mexico in all photographic processes (digital, nontraditional, 3-D, etc.). For The Mother Road
Academy Award-winner Alan Arkin will perform readings from his own works this Saturday, March 15, to benefit the Mother Road Theatre Company, Albuquerque’s newest professional performance troupe. Arkin will be joined by Santa Fe’s Jonathan Richards and New York’s Sean Kernan for this rare, one-night event. The reception starts at 7 p.m. in the Bigbee Auditorium in the State Bar Association Building (5121 Masthead NE). Tickets are $50 per person. For reservations and info, call 873-4831.
