OK, I'll admit this is kind of a “dad book,” but dads are people too, you know. And Beyond is an especially cool book that many people—even those who aren't dads—would be happy to receive for Christmas. Benson has compiled and processed the best images he can find from NASA's space probes. The result is an eye-popping combination of art and science. Arthur C. Clarke penned the foreword, and the second half of the book contains some provocative essays on the history of the probes. It's a pricey book, but in this case it's well worth the expense.
