On Saturday, July 28, Nancy Holley Hughes and Eileen Torpay will stage a public script reading for their new film The Resurrection of Honore Page: Black Cowgirl. Hughes and Torpay were recent awardees of a New Visions film contract through the NM Film Office. Their soon-to-be-shot feature follows the journey of minister Honore Page as she regains her faith and traces the voice of her Lumbee Cherokee grandmother to a ghost town in New Mexico. The reading will include excerpts from the script-in-progress as well as live music compositions and video imagery. The event will take place in the Wells Fargo Auditorium at the
National Hispanic Cultural Center (1701 Fourth Street SW), beginning at 7 p.m. The reading is free and open to the public. Visit
