Zinc Wine Bar & Bistro is continuing its popular Movie Monday Nights promotion in the Cellar Bar. Classic films are projected silently onto a seven-foot screen starting at 6, 8 and 10 p.m. Five different martini specials are available for $5 each. Come drink in the taste and feel of old Hollywood every Monday. February’s schedule of films includes Psycho (Feb. 2), Splendor in the Grass (Feb. 9), Citizen Kane (Feb. 16) and The Great Escape (Feb. 23). Zinc is located at 3009 Central NE.
Reel World Work Those Stunts
L.A. Stunt Training Center is starting up a series of “Stunt Workout” classes. These weekly classes are billed as “a great way to build your stunt skills, to ramp up for Stunt Boot Camp or continue your training afterward.” Stunt Workout sessions will consist of stunt tumbling, fighting for camera and high fall skills. There will even be a session on wire-fighting techniques. A maximum of 10 students will be accepted to this round of workout classes. Classes will meet Wednesdays from 5:30 to 8 p.m. starting Feb. 11. Cost is $300 for all eight sessions. Reel World Cinematic College
Santa Fe’s Community College has issued a list of its Spring 2009 film crew seminars. These short-run classes are intended to provide professional instruction for students interested in finding work in New Mexico’s growing film industry. Among the classes being offered this semester are Creative Process for the Classroom (2/7 to 2/8), Script Marketing (2/14), Script Pitching (2/15), Low Budget Filmmaking for the Classroom (2/18 to 3/1), Wardrobe (2/27 to 3/1), Altruism for Educators and Filmmakers (3/7 to 3/8), Special Effects (3/8), Blue Screen (4/11) and Screenwriting (5/1 to 5/3).
