Speaking of the New Mexico Film Museum, the institution will sponsor a New Mexico Film Retrospective at the State Fair this month. Sept. 11 through 27, free screenings of classic, shot-in-New-Mexico films will be shown at the African American Performing Arts Center at Expo New Mexico. Screenings take place at 10:30 a.m., 2 and 7 p.m. every day (although the morning screenings are curtailed on Saturdays and Sundays). Film selection runs the gamut: The Milagro Beanfield War, Ace in the Hole, Them, Young Guns, Silverado, No Country for Old Men, Red Dawn, The Man Who Fell to Earth, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Convoy and many more. It’s a fantastic, highly comprehensive lineup. If you’re interested, you can download the entire 17-day schedule at nmfilmmuseum.org.
