We Have a Winner!—The independent feature film,
Crab Orchard, directed by New Mexican Michael J. Jacobs, has won the International Family Film Festival Director's Gold Award. Following a week-long competition in Valencia, Calif. the drama was chosen as the fest's favorite film by the event's Board of Directors. Three principals of
Crab Orchard are New Mexicans: Jacobs as director, Judge Reinhold as lead actor and Ruby Handler as both associate producer and lead actress. The full-length family drama concerns a New York fireman's family and the trauma they endured following the 9/11 terrorist attack. According to the film's website (www.craborchardmovie.com), the film is still seeking national distribution.
