Indie Christ—On Friday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m., the Christ Unity Church will screen filmmaker Kell Kearns' documentary The Consciousness of the Christ: Reclaiming Jesus for a New Humanity. The film “tells the life of Jesus from the perspective of the divine Humanity and human potential he came to initiate.” Mystic scholar Andrew Harvey, bestselling author Marianne Williamson and “Mother of Holistic Medicine” Gladys McGarey are among those interviewed in the film. A Mountain of Movies—The 4th Annual Telluride Mountainfilm in Santa Fe will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 31. Screenings will be at the Lensic Performing Arts Center (211 West San Francisco) beginning at 7 p.m. This year's collection of shorts will include the Best of Mountainfilm 2005 as well as highlights from past years. Compelling documentaries, complex adventures and brilliant animations all express the festival's passion for mountain sports, high-altitude culture and environmental issues. Looking for Female Filmmakers—New Mexico Women in Film and Television is hoping to send two New Mexico-made shorts to the Women in Film and Television International's upcoming celebration of International Women's Day on March 8. At least 16 other WIF chapters throughout the world have signed up to participate in this special international screening. If you are interested in submitting a film, the rules are simple: Both shorts combined should run no more than 12 minutes; filmmaker must be a New Mexican female; if chosen, filmmaker must join NMWIF in some category. Final films to be shown at the International Women's Day event will be chosen by a local committee. Deadline for submission is Feb.11.
