BellaDonna + Bettie = Burlesque—BellaDonna Burlesque is back at the Guild Cinema in Nob Hill. This time around, the lovely ladies will be presenting a tribute to '50s pinup queen Bettie Page, including classic Bettie Page films and Bettie-inspired striptease routines. The show will run this Thursday, Friday and Saturday night at 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 and are on sale, in advance, at the Guild Cinema (3405 Central NE) and at Burning Paradise Video (800 Central SW). As always, this is expected to be a sell-out show!

Gorehounds Wanted—Exhilarated Despair Productions (the guys behind The Stink of Flesh) are looking for a talented, reliable, local makeup effects person for their latest horror feature, Gimme Skelter. The movie shoots May 6 through 21, and the makeup person will need to be available for those dates. Supplies will be paid for/provided. There is no pay, but you'll get to show off your work in a movie that features Gunnar Hansen (Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Trent Haaga (Terror Firmer) and Scott Spiegel (Evil Dead 2). New Dawn—A brand new 35mm print of 1972's House Made of Dawn is making a mini tour of New Mexico and will be shown on Saturday, April 8, at 1 p.m. at UNM's Southwest Film Center. The film is adapted from N. Scott Momaday's 1969 Pulitzer Prize-wining novel and was shot here in New Mexico. Filmmaker Richardson Morse and star Larry Littlebird will be on hand to introduce the film. A “Native foods” reception will take place afterward at Fremont's Fine Foods (1100 San Mateo NE), with Littlebird performing “living words, stories and songs.” Tickets for the film are $15, film and reception are $25. All proceeds go to benefit White Dawn House, a Native nonprofit dedicated to restoring the First Nations people. For reservations, call 899-6028.
