The South Broadway Cultural Center is hosting a three-day Bollywood film festival to benefit Peacecraft, the fair trade craft store in Nob Hill. On Friday, May 25, the show starts with Satyajit Ray’s 1964 romantic drama Charulata: The Lonely Wife at 7 p.m. On Saturday, it’s the 2009 road trip comedy Three Idiots at 2 p.m. followed by another Satyajit Ray film, the 1966 movie industry drama Nayak: The Hero at 7 p.m. Things close out on Sunday with the 2010 drama My Name is Khan , about an Indian Muslim with Asperger’s who embarks on a cross-country journey to speak with President Obama. That one begins at 2 p.m. Cost of each showing is $8 per person.

Reel World: Clearing The Air Clearing The Air

The climate change solutions documentary Carbon Nation will screen Thursday, May 31, at the Bosque School (4000 Learning Road NW). The school is located, appropriately enough, on the Bosque greenbelt right near Montaño Bridge. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Film starts at 7 p.m. A discussion with audience members about environment, pollution, politics and business is scheduled for the post-film slot.

Reel World: Camera Camp Camera Camp

Got a teen you want out of the house this summer? No, that’s not the proper way to put it. Do you have a teenager interested in the art and craft of filmmaking? UNM Continuing Education is offering a couple of weeklong summer film camps for students ages 13 to 18. Technical and production skills—including basic lighting, sound quality and grip techniques—will be covered. In the end, completed scenes will be screened for friends and family. Camps will be held at the DATA Charter School (1011 Lamberton NE). Section A camp runs weekdays June 18 through June 22, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Section B camp runs July 23 to July 27. Reel World: Comedy Camp Comedy Camp

Got a budding comedian in the family? The Box Performance Space in Downtown Albuquerque is hosting a Digital Short Comedy Camp. Students ages 11 to 15 will learn how to shoot and act in original digital short films using improv comedy techniques. The camp will run Monday through Friday, June 11 through 16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuition is $185. Space is limited, so sign up soon.
