On Thursday, May 8, starting at 7pm, the National Hispanic Cultural Center will screen the award-winning Spanish film El Método. The down-and-dirty 2005 boardroom drama was nominated for five Goya Awards and walked away the Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor. El Método (The Method) takes its name from a mysterious human-resources strategy supposedly imported from the United States as a means of assessing a job applicant’s respective merits. The film is set during the IMF/World Bank Summit protests and explores just how far a group of seven driven candidates are willing go to land a high-level corporate position. It will be screened in Spanish with English subtitles. Admission is free, but you should get there early to secure seats. NHCC is located at 1701 Fourth Street SW.
