Looking for a thrill? American climbing legend (I’m gonna have to take his word on that one) and author ( Wizards of Rock, Climbing Everest ) Pat Ament is coming to town on Friday, March 5, to present his new documentary film The Disciples of Gill . The film is a nostalgic tribute to John Gill, who created a strong subculture of mountain climbers in the ’60s by founding the gymnastic art of “bouldering.” The screening will get underway at 7 p.m. at UNM’s Centennial Engineering Center. There will be a reception and book signing after the show. Tickets are $10 at the door. If you miss the Friday night show, you can catch Ament and The Disciples of Gill at Santa Fe’s New Mexico Film Museum (Jean Cocteau Cinema) starting at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
