The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science is offering a “sensory friendly” screening of the documentary film Superpower Dogs at the museum’s big-screen DynaTheater (1801 Mountain Rd. NW) on Thursday, Aug. 15 starting at 5:30pm. Among other inspirational animal tales, the film relates the story of Ricochet, a surf and therapy dog who helps people with special needs and veterans with PTSD. Superpower Dogs will be shown with the theater lights only dimmed and the sound turned down. This family friendly showing encourages children to express themselves any way they want, such as talking, dancing or even singing during the show. Before and after the show, guests are encouraged to explore the museum, which will also be sensory friendly. Admission cost is $5 for museum and a movie or $10 for museum, movie and a hot dog meal. To purchase tickets in advance, go to conta.cc/33ph8oK.
