Fathom Events, Turner Classic Movies and Warner Bros. are hosting a special, one-night-only event celebrating the 60 th anniversary of the musical comedy classic Singin’ in the Rain . In addition to the digitally remastered film, there will be some exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and a making-of featurette hosted by TCM’s Robert Osborne. The event takes place Thursday, July 12, at 2 and 7 p.m. at Century 14 Downtown and Century Rio, and at 7 p.m. at Cottonwood 16. Tickets are available through Fathom Events.

The Santa Fe Railyard Park Free Movie Series picks up again this Friday, July 13, with Martin Scorsese’s incredible 1978 film The Last Waltz , which documents the final concert of ’70s roots rockers The Band. Founding Band member Levon Helm passed away in April, so this makes for a timely tribute. The screening will take place just after dusk. Blankets and picnics are welcome, but booze and umbrellas need to stay at home.

Part 3 of KiMo Theatre’s Friday Fright Nights series comes to an end on Friday, July 13 (Friday the 13 th , how appropriate!), with The Wolfman . This 2010 remake of the classic 1941 Universal monster movie stars Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., film starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the KiMo box office and at kimotickets.com. They’ll set you back $5 for kids and seniors, $7 for adults.

KiMo keeps the movies flowing on Wednesday, July 18, with yet another installment of the fantastic New Mexico Centennial Film Series. This time, it’s the 1970 Western comedy The Cheyenne Social Club . Helping bring things full circle is that fact that the film was directed by Hollywood legend / Singin’ in the Rain star Gene Kelly. James Stewart and Henry Fonda top the cast list as a couple of old cowpokes who inherit a Wild West brothel. It was shot on location at the J.W. Eaves Movie Ranch near Santa Fe. Admission is free. Show starts at 7 p.m.
