Thursday 21

"Live from Abbey Road” (Sundance Channel 8 p.m.) Think of it as "Austin City Limits” but with less Shiner Bock backstage. Performing in tonight’s debut show: John Mayer and Norah Jones.

Street Thief (A&E 8 p.m.) First-time filmmaker Malik Bader created a bit of a stir at the Sundance Film Festival with this gritty “fictional biography” of a New York City thief. The film is a fake in the best Blair Witch Project vein, but Bader (who also stars) keeps things gripping thanks to his raw performance.

Friday 22

Sci-Fi Friday (AMC 2:15 a.m.) Tune in any time today to catch a planet-sized marathon of science fiction films starting with Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and continuing haphazardly through the AMC vault with Earth vs. The Spider , Them , Below , The Fly , Return of the Fly , Poltergeist II , Young Frankenstein and Army of Darkness .

”Stargate: SG1” (Sci-Fi 9 p.m.) Of course, if you’re a major sci-fi geek, you’ll be hosting your farewell to “Stargate: SG1” party, as the loooong -running show signs off with its series finale tonight.

Saturday 23

Stan Lee’s Harpies (Sci-Fi 7 p.m.) I will always worship Stan Lee as a god-among-men for the comic book characters he created in the ’60s and ’70s. Marvel comics are and will always be the indisputable mythology of the modern generation. Nonetheless, Stan the Man’s modern-day output has been somewhat underwhelming (Spider-Man movie cameos, Pamela Anderson’s “Stripperella” cartoon). Witness this generic Sci-Fi Original movie about a dude (Sci-Fi Channel retainer Stephen Baldwin) who gets teleported back to medieval times to fight the titular monsters.

Sunday 24

“2007 Summer TV Preview” (TV Guide Channel 7 p.m.) Having trouble telling your “America’s Got Talent” from your “So You Think You Can Dance”? Not to worry, TV Guide will sort it all out for you.

Monday 25

“Science of Love: A Modern Dating Experiment” (KOB-4 9 p.m.) A better subtitle would actually be “An Hour-Long Commercial for Perfectmatch.com.”

Tuesday 26

”BET Awards 2007” (BET 7 p.m.) Mo’Nique hosts this year’s annual tribute to “superlative achievement” in music, movies and sports. Beyoncé’s up for just about every award except Best Actress. Where’s the love? Didn’t the judges see The Pink Panther ?

”Shaq’s Big Challenge” (KOAT-7 8 p.m.) What, recording a follow-up to his 1994 rap album Shaq Fu: Da Return ? Unloading old VHS copies of Steel ? Losing weight? … What? Really? I was just joking. It’s actually a reality series about Shaq losing weight and encouraging kids to eat healthy? Wow, this should be bigger than the time he tried to join the WWE.

Wednesday 27

“I’d Kill for a Baby” (TLC 8 p.m.) Me, I’d kill for a bacon double cheeseburger right about now. The difference? I’m speaking in hyperbolic terms. The gals profiled in this documentary actually would (and have) killed to get their hands on a newborn diaper filler.
