Thursday 3
“Happy Days 30th Anniversary Reunion” (KOAT-7 7 p.m.) Gosh, it seems like only yesterday I was sitting in class during SSR (silent sustained reading) poring over a copy of Bananas with Fonzie on the cover. Has it really been 30 years? Ron Howard, Henry Winkler and the rest of the cast get together to remind us that yes, yes it has been.
“All-American Tailgating Cook-Off” (Food Network 7 p.m.) In anticipation of the Super Bowl, Joe Cahn–the self-appointed commissioner of tailgating–chooses the best parking lot chefs in America. … “Commissioner of tailgating?” Man, I thought my job was a scam.
Friday 4
“Super Bowl Commercials vs. The World” (KRQE-13 7 p.m.) The best Super Bowl commercials go head-to-head with the best commercials from around the world. Which are better? Viewers get to vote online. … Lemme get this straight: People in Iraq are fighting off suicide bombers to cast their ballots in their country's first democratic election in 30 years and we're voting on who's got better beer ads?
Blood from the Mummy's Tomb (AMC 9:30 p.m.) Sixties-era Euro-babe Valerie Leon isn't exactly well-known outside her native England, but check her out as the lingerie-clad archeologist's daughter possessed by an evil Egyptian queen in this 1971 adaptation of Bram Stoker's Jewel of the Seven Stars, and you'll be a convert. You can send her a mash note at www.valerieleon.com.
Saturday 5
“11th Annual SAG Awards” (TNT 6 p.m.) The stars stop off at their last dress rehearsal before the big Oscar night. Fortunately, since it's the Screen Actor's Guild, you only have to look at attractive movie stars tonight. Ugly directors and producers have been left out of this one.
Sunday 6
“American Dad” (KASA-2 8:30 p.m.) A couple years ago, Seth MacFarlane was just another out-of-work animator with a canceled TV show. Since it hit reruns on Cartoon Network, however, his show “Family Guy” has become a huge cult hit, prompting FOX to give him another series. This one is about a cartoon dad as opposed to a cartoon family guy.
Monday 7
“Unwrapped: Animal Snackers” (Food Network 7 p.m.) Unwrapped gives us the history behind assorted animal-shaped snacks, such as animal crackers and … um … did I mention animal crackers?
Tuesday 8
“Amazing Race 6” (KRQE-13 8 p.m.) Tonight is the season finale. But there are no dwarves this time. So what's the point?
“Secrets of the Dead: Murder at Stonehenge” (KNME-5 8 p.m.) Archeologists and forensics experts attempt to solve the mystery behind an ancient body found underneath Stonehenge. Surely the statute of limitations has run out on that one.
Wednesday 9
“Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Model Search” (KOB-4 7 p.m.) Wanna find out who the next Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover model will be? You can find out on tonight's nailbiting finale. Me, I'll just paw through the issue next month while waiting in the Wal-mart check-out lane.
