Thursday 17

“VH1 Rock Honors: The Who” (VH1 7 p.m.) VH1 deviates from "Rock Honors" tradition by burning two hours on a single supergroup: The Who. Bands like Pearl Jam, The Foo Fighters, Flaming Lips, Tenacious D … and, god only knows why, Incubus …. pay tribute with performances, as will surviving bandmates Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend.

“The Gong Show with Dave Attell” (Comedy Central 11 p.m.) Comedy Central premieres a revival of the campy hit ’70s talent show, now hosted by bleakly sardonic comedian Dave Attell. Should be … interesting.

“Reality Bites Back” (Comedy Central 11:30 p.m.) It’s nice to see underutilized Michael Ian Black ("The State," Wet Hot American Summer ) in new series. I just wish it wasn’t this series—a parody of competition reality show clichés (all of them) with undiscovered comic contestants.

“Ace of Cakes” (Food Network 8 p.m.) Another season set in Baltimore’s Charm City Cakes reveals that, try as they might, stoned art-school dropouts just can’t stop coating things in fondant.

Friday 18

“Monk” (USA 7 p.m.) The multiple award-winning dramedy about a hyper-OCD detective is back for its seventh season on USA …

‘Psych” (USA 8 p.m.) … immediately followed by the third season of "Psych," the network’s other original, monosyllabic dramedy about an eccentric detective. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it; that’s USA’s motto.

Saturday 19

“Flip That House: Diary of a Flip” (TLC 6 p.m.) The crumbling housing market hasn’t deterred TLC and other cable networks from pumping their schedules full of house-flipping shows. Nor has it deterred me from watching all of them. And whatever this "Diary of a Flip" thing is, it’s a one-hour special, so you know I’ll be all over that shit.

Sunday 20

“High School Musical: Get in the Picture” (KOAT-7 7 p.m.) Let’s just clarify something here. By "get in the picture," this national teen talent competition (fronted by ex-teen sensation Nick Lachey) doesn’t mean "star in the picture" or even "get a small role in the picture" (the picture being High School Musical 3: Senior Year ). No, it actually means "appear in a music video that will play during the end credits of the theatrical release of the picture." That’s the grand prize. Gee … thanks, Disney.

“2008 ESPY Awards” (ESPN 7 p.m.) Hey! Our own Holly Holm is up for the ESPY’s Best Fighter award. And she’s the only female fighter on the ballot, going against brutes like Floyd Mayweather, UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre and Undisputed World Super-Middleweight Champion Joe Calzaghe. Tune in to find out if Holly kicks their asses.

Monday 21

“Batman Tech” (History 7 p.m.) Who needs superpowers when you’re a genius multibillionaire with a state-of-the-art underground lab and an uncanny knack for inventing stuff? History Channel rolls out an hour of bat-gadget porn.

“Heidi Fleiss: The Would-Be Madame of Crystal” (HBO 10 p.m.) It’s been a little more than 10 years since Heidi Fleiss was infamously busted for running a Southern California prostitution ring. Now we can watch as the "Hollywood Madam" goes legit, opening the country’s first legal for-women brothel (The Stud Farm) in Crystal, Nevada. Is it any coincidence this HBO special is 69 minutes long?

Tuesday 22

“How to Look Good Naked” (Lifetime 8 p.m.) … Because if there’s anything gayer than gay host Carson Kressley ("Queer Eye for the Straight Guy") knows, it’s naked women.
