Thursday 5 “30 Rock” (KOB-4 8:30 p.m.) Jon Hamm of “Mad Men” joins the cast for a three-episode arc as Liz Lemon’s new love interest. “ER” (KOB-4 9 p.m.) William H. Macy makes his obligatory return cameo in “ER” ’s send-off season. It’s hard to care at this point, but it’s nice to see old Doc Morgenstern. Friday 6 “Jockeys” (Animal Planet 7 p.m.) Yes, cable TV’s “Spin the Wheel and Make a Docu-reality Show About This Career” idea generator has stopped on “jockey.” At least we avoided “tree trimmer.” … Oh, wait, we didn’t. Watch “Saw for Hire” on TLC! Saturday 7 Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story (TNT 6 p.m.) Cuba Gooding Jr. stars as a poor kid who lifts himself out of poverty to become a famous neurosurgeon with the help of his tough-love mom (Kimberly Elise). I’m inspired already. The Good Witch’s Garden (Hallmark 7 p.m.) Catherine Bell (“JAG”) returns in this sequel to last year’s The Good Witch as a witchy woman whose bed and breakfast is threatened by the arrival of a mysterious stranger. Savage Planet (Sci-Fi 9 p.m.) Most viewers regard this as the worst Sci-Fi Channel movie ever made. That’s a mighty bold claim. Make it through this mega-chintzy epic in which space travelers end up on an alien planet fighting stock footage of ordinary brown bears (no, I’m not kidding) and you’ll believe it. Sunday 8 XIII (KOB-4 8 p.m.) Stephen Dorff ( Blade ) stars in this two-part miniseries as an amnesiac killing machine who tries to prevent the President of the United States from being offed while being pursued by none other than governor-in-training Val Kilmer. Any resemblance to the Jason Bourne movie series is purely wishful thinking. It’s actually based on the comic book/video game of the same name (numeral?). Monday 9 “The 133 rd Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show” (USA 6 p.m.) Frankly, I have my doubts they’ll ever be able to surpass the legendary 128 th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. “The Girls of Hedsor Hall” (MTV 10 p.m.) Like most of Donald Trump’s ideas, this MTV reality show about a bunch of young party girls shipped off to a snobby British academy in hopes of turning them into proper ladies is a shameless rip-off of other stuff (“Charm School,” “Rock of Love Charm School” to name but two). On the plus side, Trump might find a new trophy wife among the cast. Tuesday 10 “T.I.’s Road to Redemption” (MTV 10 p.m.) Atlanta rapper T.I. goes out in the community and helps underprivileged kids. That sounds inspiring–except he’s only doing it for the next 45 days, and then he gets to report to prison on federal weapons charges. Sounds like pre-emptive community service to me. Wednesday 11 “Important Things with Demetri Martin” (Comedy Central 11:30 p.m.) The doodle-obsessed comedian gets his own sketch/stand-up show.
