Thursday 24 “FlashForward” (KOAT-7 7 p.m.) Joseph Fiennes, John Cho, Dominic Monaghan and Gabrielle Union are among the ensemble cast of this curious thriller inspired by Robert J. Sawyer’s award-winning sci-fi novel. In it, all of humanity blacks out and wakes up having seen a “flash” of their own personal future. But can these future fates be avoided? More importantly, can the show keep up this story line for several seasons? Friday 25 “Brothers” (KASA-2 7 p.m.) Michael Strahan (“FOX NFL Sunday”) and Daryl “Chill” Mitchell (“Ed”) star in this sitcom about a retired NFL player who goes home to Houston to help his wheelchair-bound brother keep his restaurant afloat. Hey, Strahan set the NFL record with 22.5 sacks in a single season. I’m sure he’s hilarious. “Dollhouse” (KASA-2 8 p.m.) I’m as surprised as anyone that FOX brought Joss Whedon’s sci-fi series back for a second season. Although dumping “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” and adding a football-centric sitcom as a lead-in probably isn’t going to do a lot to boost ratings. Willie Dynamite (TCM 12:15 a.m.) TCM’s Underground dips into some old-school blaxploitation with this surprisingly thoughtful 1974 saga about New York’s No. 1 mack daddy pimp. Believe it or not, that’s Roscoe Orman (better known as Gordon on “Sesame Street”) under that giant, fuzzy pimp hat! Saturday 26 Children of the Corn (SyFy 7 p.m.) Some horror movie remakes are too damn good to get lost in the cineplex shuffle and must, therefore, premiere directly on SyFy Channel. Hence, this budget-minded Stephen King remake starring such random sci-fi actors as Kandyse McClure (Officer Dualla on “Battlestar Galactica”), David Anders (Adam on “Heroes”) and Daniel Newman (Greg on “Surface”). “Saturday Night Live” (KOB-4 10:30 p.m.) Megan Fox hosts the season premiere. Is she hot? Arguably quite so. Is she funny? I’m gonna go with not so much. Sunday 27 “The Simpsons” (KASA-2 7 p.m.) FOX’s venerable series kicks off its 21 st season, meaning the show is now legally able to drink. “The Cleveland Show” (KASA-2 7:30 p.m.) Although FOX said goodbye to “King of the Hill” last week, the network keeps up its animation domination with the addition of this “Family Guy” spin-off. Monday 28 “Trauma” (KOB-4 8 p.m.) Is it that nurses and doctors inherently have more dramatic lives than anyone else on the planet, or is it that television writers are just exceptionally lazy when it comes to dreaming up new TV show ideas? Tuesday 29 “Weird, True & Freaky” (Animal Planet 7 p.m.) AnPlan’s icky documentary series returns for a new season. Tonight’s topic: “Things Removed From the Body” … Probably the least popular category ever on Dick Clark’s “$25,000 Pyramid.” Wednesday 30 “Hank” (KOAT-7 7 p.m.) Contrary to what you might believe, Kelsey Grammer, we’ll get by just fine without you on television. You don’t have to sign on to every half-assed sitcom that crosses your desk.
