Thursday 18

“Join or Die with Craig Ferguson” (History 9pm) The comedian and former late night talk show host takes a look back at epic historical fails like the greatest political blunders and the worst medical advice with guest entertainers and history experts.

Friday 19

“Cooked” (Netflix streaming anytime) Food writer Michael Pollan (The Omnivore’s Dilemma) teams with documentary filmmaker Alex Gibney (Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief) for this four-part docu-series about “differing methods of cooking and their evolutionary and cultural impacts on humankind.”

“Love” (Netflix streaming anytime) Comedy king Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up) tries his hand at a romantic sitcom.

“Million Dollar Genius” (History 8pm) This new docu-series provides inspirational stories of ordinary people who came up with simple, moneymaking inventions, like those cardboard sleeves on coffee cups. Me, I’ve got an idea for a new docu-series that provides inspirational stories of ordinary people who … ah, crap.

Saturday 20

“Telescope” (Discovery 7pm) Discovery chronicles the building of the James Webb Space Telescope, a “flagship-class space observatory” scheduled to launch in October 2018.

“Jeff Gordon’s Daytona 500 Kickoff Celebration” (KASA-2 8pm) You might be a redneck if …

Sunday 21

“The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60” (KOAT-7 7pm) “Dancing With the Stars” star Derek Hough hosts this anniversary celebration featuring the random likes of Elton John, Josh Gad, Harrison Ford, Jessie J, Dick Van Dyke and Tori Kelly.

“Must See TV: An All-Star Tribute to James Burrows” (KOB-4 8pm) Who? The producer of “Cheers,” “Will & Grace” and “Mike & Molly.” Since 1975, he’s alleged to have directed 1,000 TV episodes—everything from “The Bob Newhart Show” to “Lavern & Shirley” to “Frasier” to “Two and a Half Men.” (Hey, they can’t all be glory assignments).

Monday 22

“24th Annual Movieguide Faith & Values Awards” (Reelz 5pm) Movieguide’s annual collection of films that contain no cursing, violence or sex and occasional mentions of Jesus. This is pretty much the only place you’ll find Do You Believe and The Good Dinosaur considered award-worthy entertainment.

Tuesday 23

“The Muppets” (KOAT-7 7:30pm) Will sparks fly when Kermit and Miss Piggy pretend to be together for the sake of Kermit’s nephew, Robin? … Jeez, I never thought I’d be “shipping” for a pig and a frog.

Wednesday 24

“Nicole and Jionni’s Shore Flip” (FYI 7pm) Former “Jersey Shore” star/orange Smurfette Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and her mook of a husband, Jionni Lavalle, are now “flipping” houses—presumably because that’s something people on TV do.

“Fat Chance” (TLC 8pm) The only thing I like more than reality shows in which overweight people try to weigh slightly less on a weekly basis is … everything else on TV.

“MTV Suspect” (MTV 12am) From the producers of “Catfish: The TV Show” comes this (not at all exploitative, I’m sure) series in which our hosts examine and expose the “deep secrets” people are hiding from their friends and loved ones—from secret identities to hidden addictions. Oh, Jerry Springer, what hast thou wrought?
