Thursday 8

“Better Things” (FX 11pm) Pamela Adlon is the star and co-creator (along with her “Lucky Louie” costar Louis C.K.) of this sitcom about a single mother raising three kids, caring for her own mother and trying to kickstart a career as an actress in Hollywood.

Friday 9

“Stand Up To Cancer” (KRQE-13/KOAT-7/NOB-4/KASA-2 7pm) The broadcast network (along with a whole bunch of cable networks) air this special urging viewers to support cancer research. Celine Dion, Keith Urban and Little Big Town are among the performers. … If I donate, do I still have to listen to Celine Dion?

“Quarry” (Cinemax 8pm) A shellshocked Vietnam vet (Logan Marshall-Green from “The O.C.”) returns home to Memphis in 1972 only to get caught up in a web of death and corruption. This gritty crime series is based on the novels by Max Allan Collins.

“Martin Lawrence: Doin’ Time” (Showtime 7pm) Hard to believe, but it’s been 14 years since Martin Lawrence’s last standup special, “Runteldat.”

Saturday 10

Girl in the Box (Lifetime 6pm) This ripped-from-the-(very old)-headlines dramatization relates the real-life story of Colleen Stan, a 22-year-old hitchhiker who was kidnapped by a young couple in 1977 and spent the next seven years being their slave. Like all true-life Lifetime movies, it’s followed by a two-hour documentary about the same thing.

Sunday 11

“9/11: 15 Years Later” (CNN 6pm) Sorry, 9/11 Truthers. Nothing to see here. Go back to Reddit.

“102 Minutes That Changed America: 15th Anniversary Edition” (History 6pm) Since there’s not a lot new to talk about, even after 15 years, History Channel just updates its 2008 documentary.

“Son of Zorn” (KASA-2 7pm) FOX sneak-previews its new cartoon/live-action sitcom about an animated, He-Man-esque barbarian (voiced by Jason Sudeikis) who moves to Orange County to reconnect with his estranged ex-wife (Cheryl Hines) and their son.

“2017 Miss America Competition” (KOAT-7 8pm) Still a thing.

“Rob & Chyna” (E! 10pm) Oh, thank God! The last, least talented, least charismatic, least interesting member of the Kardashian family finally gets his own reality show now that he’s engaged to model Blac Chyna.

Monday 12

“CBS Fall Preview” (KRQE-13 7:30pm) Kevin James hosts this glimpse at CBS’ new fall shows, like … Well, would you look at that: “Kevin Can Wait” starring Kevin James.

Tuesday 13

“Taking Fire” (Discovery 8:01pm) American soldiers stationed in war-torn Afghanistan finally get their own reality show. Sadly, Rob Kardashian beat them to it by a couple of days.

Wednesday 14

The Million Dollar Duck (Animal Planet 7:01pm) This documentary looks at the history of the Federal Duck Stamp Contest, the only juried art competition run by the US government.

“American Horror Story: The Mist” (FX 11pm) At least that’s what we think the title for season 6 is going to be. Not even the network is spilling the beans.

“Legends of Chamberlain Heights” (Comedy Central 11:30pm) This animated comedy follows the adventures of three high school basketball players who are legends in their own minds.
