“Farmers’ Market Flip” (Cooking 8pm) It’s a cooking competition in which contestants must first shop for ingredients as a farmer’s market.

“Soundtracks: The Assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.” (CNN 8pm) CNN explores the music that kept the spirit of the civil rights movement alive following the death of MLK.

“Bill Nye Saves the World” (Netflix streaming anytime) Just in time, too. Science geek Bill Nye hosts this brainy talk show exploring topics from climate change to alternative medicine to video games to sex. Look for appearances by Zach Braff, Rachel Bloom, Joel McHale, Wil Wheaton, Steve Aoki and Tim Gunn.

Burn Motherf*cker, Burn! (Showtime 7pm) Showtime looks back at the historic LA riots with this documentary about the relationship between African Americans and the LAPD.

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (HBO 6pm) Oprah Winfrey, Rose Byrne, Courtney B. Vance, Reg E. Cathey and Leslie Uggams star in this adaptation of Rebecca Skloot’s absolutely mesmerizing (though seemingly difficult to dramatize) book about Henrietta Lacks, an African-American woman who died of cancer—but whose cells have been studied, cultivated and reproduced for decades in the field of cancer research.

New York Prison Break: The Seduction of Joyce Mitchell (Lifetime 6pm) Penelope Ann Miller (From Big Top Pee-wee, Kindergarten Cop and The Gun in Betty Lou’s Handbag) stars as Joyce Mitchell, the nationally embarrassed prison seamstress who helped a couple of convicts escape from the Clinton Correctional Facility in 2015. … Question to ponder: If you’re Joyce, do you watch?

“Mary Kills People” (Lifetime 8:02pm) An ER doctor (Caroline Dhavernas from “Hannibal,” “Off the Map” and “Wonderfalls”) spends her days saving people’s lives and her nights operating as a “underground angel of death” helping terminally ill patients end their lives.

Monday 24

“Adventure Time: Elements” (Cartoon Network 8:30pm) “Adventure Time” seems to be sticking to this week-long “mini-series” format for its last couple of seasons. In this eight-part storyline, Finn and Jake return to Ooo (following the events of the revelatory “Islands” mini-series) only to find that life in the kingdom has changed radically.

“Bates Motel” (A&E 8pm) A&E’s prequel to Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho comes to an end after five seasons—presumably with everyone happy and healthy.

Tuesday 25

“Genius” (National Geographic 7pm) Ron Howard and Brian Grazer (The Da Vinci Code, A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13) produce this biographical series starring Geoffrey Rush (Shine, Quills, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl) as super-scientist Albert Einstein.

“Great News” (KOB-4 8pm) An up-and-coming news show producer (Briga Heelan, “Ground Floor”) is horrified to find that her overbearing mother (Andrea Martin from “SCTV”) has rejoined the workforce as an intern at the cable TV station where she works.

“Outlaw Tech” (Science 8:04pm) This new series spotlight the cutting-edge science (biological, chemical, technological) used on both sides of the law in bank robberies, casino heists, prison breaks and more.
