“Modern Love” (Amazon Prime streaming anytime) Amazon’s new anthology rom-com series is inspired by real-life personal essays from the much-loved New York Times column “Modern Love.” It starts out with Tina Fey (“30 Rock”) and John Slattery (“Mad Men”) on the worst first date ever.

“Toon” (Netflix steaming anytime) Reclusive, socially awkward jingle composer Toon (Dutch writer-creator-star Joep Vermolen) is forced to navigate the nightmarish world of show biz after a viral video skyrockets him to fame.

The Good Witch: Curse From a Rose (Hallmark 6pm) Since 2008 Hallmark’s supernatural romance has spawned 10 feature films and five seasons of a TV series. Catherine Bell returns for an 11th feature, just in time for Halloween. Seems that the old college roommate of our witchy heroine is in town and on a mission to disrupt Halloween festivities.

Patsy & Loretta (Lifetime 6pm) Fans of Ken Burns’ “Country Music” documentary might want to check out this biopic about the friendship between country crooners Patsy Cline (popular Broadway belter Megan Hilty) and Loretta Lynn (Tony winner Jessie Mueller).

Sunday 20

The Simpsons” (KRQE-DT2 7pm) “The Simpsons” celebrates 30 years of Halloween laughs with “Treehouse of Horrors XXX.” Among tonight’s parodies: Lisa and the kids do “Stranger Things” and Selma reenacts The Shape of Water.

“Watchmen” (HBO 7pm) The groundbreaking comic book series by Alan Moore and Davie Gibbons gets a sequel in the form of this nine-episode story arc, following a new series of clandestine superheroes in an alternate reality America in which costumed heroes are outlawed.

Monday 21

2019 American Humane Hero Dog Awards” (Hallmark 6pm) Go ahead and make your dog watch. Show him what a slacker he’s been.

“Catherine the Great” (HBO 8pm) Helen Mirren stars in this biographical drama about the famous Russian empress and her relationship with Grigory Potemkin (Jason Clarke, Terminator Genisys).

Tuesday 22

“The Misery Index” (TBS 5pm) Jameela Jamil (“The Good Place”) host this comedy game show, which pits ordinary contestants against the schmucks from “Impractical Jokers” in an attempt to rate “hilarious and miserable real-life events on a scale of 1 to 100.”

Wednesday 23

“Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner” (Netflix streaming anytime) Famous chef David Chang sends celebrities (Seth Rogen, Chrissy Teigen, Lena Waithe) on a world food tour to try out new and different meals.

“The Oval” (BET 9pm) Tyler Perry, who probably has enough shows on TV already, is the creator-writer-producer-director behind this political soap opera about a long-serving White House butler and his family.
