Thursday 16

“American Inventor” (KOAT-7 7 p.m.) To give credit where credit is due, at least this umpteenth “American Idol” knock-off celebrates an intellectual (sort of) pursuit.

Friday 17

“Doctor Who” (Sci-Fi 7 p.m.) The Sci-Fi Channel scores some street cred (on, you know, nerdy streets) by importing the latest season of the BBC's looooong-running series. Christopher Eccleston (The Others, 28 Days Later) stars as the time-traveling tourist.

“Paddy Whacked” (History 7 p.m.) Man, is that a bad title–and on St. Patrick's Day, no less. The show is about the legacy of the Irish Mafia. Get it? “Paddy Whacked.”

Saturday 18

“Saturday Night's Main Event” (KOB-4 8 p.m.) So, it's come down to this, has it, TV? Stealing leftover scraps from cable? Primetime professional wrestling hasn't been a viable programming option since the '50s. You couldn't make it fly during the height of Hulkamania. What makes you think it's gonna work now?

“Isaac's Famous Friends” (Style 9 p.m.) Designer-turned-attention-whore Isaac Mizrahi chats with famous friends lke Tom Arnold and actor Steve Schirripa. … Seriously? Isaac, my friends are more famous than that.

Sunday 19

“The JammX Kids All-Star Dance Special” (KWBQ-19 6 p.m.) Nope. I'm not even going to pretend like I know and/or care what this is supposed to be.

Time Bomb (KRQE-13 8 p.m.) David Arquette and Angela Bassett star as a couple of Department of Homeland Security agents racing to stop terrorists from blowing up a football stadium. … David Arquette?

Monday 20

“My Shocking Story: I Woke Up in the Morgue” (TLC 8 p.m.) Well … I woke up in the bathroom once.

Tuesday 21

“The Real Housewives of Orange County” (Bravo 8 p.m.) On this new reality series, five Southern California housewives share their lives living in a wealthy gated community. … Gee, thanks, but no thanks, ladies.

Wednesday 22

“TV Land Awards” (TV Land 7 p.m.) Megan Mullally of “Will & Grace” hosts the annual awards show for people who are normally too dead to get awards. Expect a big triple salute to Don Knotts, Dennis Weaver and Darren McGavin.

“Unan1mous” (KASA-2 8:30 p.m.) FOX's new reality gameshow locks a bunch of people in a room. One of them will walk out with $1.5 million–that is, if all the people can unanimously agree to give it to that one person. … Yeah, right. The people on “Survivor” can't agree on how to start a fire.

“Heist” (KOB-4 9 p.m.) From the director of Mr. & Mrs. Smith (Doug Liman) comes this “24”/“Prison Break”-inspired action drama about a team of crooks (led by Mission: Impossible II's Dougray Scott) who set out to rob a string of Beverly Hills jewelry stores.

“The Evidence” (KOAT-7 9 p.m.) ABC's latest cop drama features a gimmick. Before the show starts, viewers get to see all the evidence police will collect that week. In other words: ABC is begging for some of the sweet, sweet “CSI” audience.
