Thursday 29

“Attack of the Celebrity Bikinis” (E! 11pm) Thanks for keepin’ it classy, E!

Friday 30

Side By Side: The Science, Art and Impact of Digital Cinema (KNME-5 9:20pm) Keanu Reeves produced and hosted this documentary about the future of digital moviemaking featuring interviews with James Cameron, George Lucas, Martin Scorsese, Steven Soderbergh and others.

Saturday 31

“The Doctors Revisited: The Eighth Doctor” (BBC America 7pm) Here’s the funny thing about the eighth Doctor (as portrayed by Paul McGann): He only appeared once. In an American TV movie. On Fox. Oddly enough, he remains quite popular with fans. But there ain’t a lot to talk about.

Sunday 1

My Little Pony: Equestria Girls (The Hub 10am) Even the “bronies” who seem to love “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” were a little freaked out by this feature-length cartoon in which Twilight Sparkle ends up in an alternate dimension where she transforms into a teenage girl and has adventures with a bunch of other half-horse/half-Barbie dolls. When the bronies are skeeved-out, you know you’ve gone too far.

“The MDA Show of Strength Telethon” (KOAT-7 8pm) It’s no longer the “Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon.” And it’s only broadcasting on ABC this year. Also they don’t want your crummy dimes anymore. Folding money only, people.

“TV’s Funniest of the Funny: A Paley Center For Media Special” (KOB-4 8pm) The Paley Center for Media (formerly the Museum of Television & Radio) salutes the top 30 funniest moments in television history.

Monday 2

“Uncle Grandpa” (Cartoon Network 9pm) From the maker of “Secret Mountain Fort Awesome” comes this surreal cartoon about a helpful old dude who wanders around the country in his magic RV using his talking fanny pack to help kids in trouble. There’s also a dinosaur person, a talking pizza named Steve and a “giant realistic flying tiger.”

“The Comedy Central Roast of James Franco” (Comedy Central 11pm) Franco’s reign of weirdness continues.

Tuesday 3

“Cold Justice” (TNT 8pm) In this “real life crime drama,” former prosecutor Kelly Siegler and former CSI Yolanda McClary dig into actual small-town murder cases that have gone unsolved.

“We’re the Fugawis” (History 8pm) Another wacky redneck biker gang gets the docu-reality treatment. Complete with rude joke hidden in the title.

“My Big Fat Revenge” (Oxygen 10pm) Here’s an entertainment tip for you: When you’re stuck for a title, simply add a noun to the words “My Big Fat …”

Wednesday 4

“Digfellas” (Travel 6 p.m.) Because one reality show about two guys wandering around with metal detectors isn’t nearly enough. We need, like, five of ’em.

“Futurama” (Comedy Central 11pm) In this series finale, Fry finally proposes to Leela, and the Professor’s invention screws with the fabric of time. Don’t be too sad, fans. This is the second time the show has been canceled. It could come back.
