Thursday 23

Somebody’s Gotta Do It” (CNN 7pm) The jobs on Mike Rowe’s new documentary series aren’t as dirty as the old ones—depending, of course, on how you look at it. Tonight, for example, he tries his hand at burlesque.

Friday 24

“Bruce Jenner: The Interview” (KOAT-7 8pm) Diane Sawyer scores a major “get,” an interview with former Kardashian couch decoration Bruce Jenner. Of course everyone will be tuning in to hear him talk about his (still rumored, mind you) sex change operation. I’m betting that topic will be touched on in the last 60 seconds of the hour-long interview.

“Andrew Dice Clay Presents the Blue Show” (Showtime 9pm) Raunchy, late-’80s comedian Andrew Dice Clay—“banned for life” from MTV in 1989—headlines a new comedy special.

Saturday 25

“The DC Life” (KYNM-30.2 5:30pm) Fans of MMA and other “combat sports” now have a place to turn—this locally produced, digital cable show hosted by Sal Mora. Fighters, coaches, local and national promoters, and MMA brand owners are just some of the personalities who will be profiled and interviewed.

Valley Uprising (Discovery 6pm) This feature-length documentary explores the counterculture that grew up in the campgrounds of Yosemite Valley, encompassing the generations of rock climbers who congregated there to scale its stony walls.

Til Death Do Us Part (Lifetime 6pm) And conservative politicians would have us believe homosexuality is a threat to traditional marriage. I’d say all the Lifetime movies in which husbands turn out to be serial killers are a far bigger threat to the institution.

Lake Placid vs. Anaconda (Syfy 7pm) To be more accurate, this is actually The Giant Crocodile from Lake Placid vs. Anaconda.

Sunday 26

“Disney Channel Presents the 2015 Radio Disney Music Awards” (Disney 6pm) Call me crazy, but I get the feeling a lot of Disney stars are going to win tonight. My money’s on the likes of Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Zendaya and Ariana Grande.

“Queens of Drama” (POP 8pm) A group of former soap stars (Lindsay Hartley, Crystal Hunt, Vanessa Marcil, Chrystee Pharris and Hunter Tylo) try to return to TV “on their own terms” by developing, pitching, producing and starring in a new nighttime soap opera. Hey, at least you got a reality show out of it, ladies.

Monday 27

Tales of the Grim Sleeper (HBO 7pm) Filmmaker Nick Broomfield (Monster in a Box, Aileen Wuornos: The Selling of a Serial Killer, Kurt & Courtney) investigates the case of the Grim Sleeper, a serial killer who terrorized Los Angeles for 25 years.

“Swab Stories” (VH1 7:30pm) The owners of a mobile DNA-testing service get their own “Maury”-esque reality show.

Tuesday 28

“Marvel’s Avengers Assemble” (Disney XD 6:30pm) Marvel’s cartoon series gets us hyped for the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron movie with an Ultron-centic episode.

Wednesday 29

The Casual Vacancy (HBO 6pm) The J.K. Rowling book that isn’t Harry Potter gets turned into a miniseries starring Rory Kinnear (Skyfall), Michael Gambon (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) and Julia McKenzie (“Agatha Christie’s Marple”).
