Thursday 24

“Duets” (KOAT-7 7 p.m.) It’s just like every other singing competition on TV—except the judges actually have to get off their butts and sing as well.

“On the Fly” (TLC 7 p.m.) Ever wanted to spend more time at the airport, watching desk clerks fight with confused customers, seeing flight attendants trying to placate angry passengers or wallowing in the intimate drama of endless flight delays? This behind-the-scenes docu-reality series about Southwest Airlines should help out.

“Tattoo School” (TLC 8 p.m.) Inking guru Dr. Bill Pogue has two weeks to teach random people how to tattoo. The only question being, why?

“Men at Work” (TBS 8 p.m.) Breckin Meyer ( Garfield ) and Danny Masterson (“That ’70s Show”) star in this new sitcom about a bunch of friends who work at a hip New York magazine.

Friday 25

“The Link” (National Geographic 5 p.m.) Taking its cue form PBS’ old “Connections” show, this new tech series starts out by tracing the link between swords, beer, freezers and the Predator UAV.

“Paul Simon’s Graceland Journey: Under African Skies” (A&E 8 p.m.) Documentary filmmaker Joe Berlinger ( Paradise Lost, Some Kind of Monster ) follows Paul Simon back to South Africa for a concert celebrating the 25 th anniversary of his landmark album Graceland .

Saturday 26

“How to be a Gentleman” (KRQE-13 7 p.m.) The long-ago canceled sitcom returns to spackle a few cracks in CBS’ summer lineup.

Sunday 27

“Mermaids: The Body Found” (Animal Planet 7 p.m.) So, if we used CGI animation, a lot of dramatic license and some—ahem—“scientific theory,” what would the biology, sociology and history of mermaids look like?

Monday 28

Hatfields & McCoys (History 7 p.m.) History Channel turns the legendary West Virginia / Kentucky feud into a big-deal dramatic miniseries starring Kevin Costner, Bill Paxton, Tom Berenger and Powers Boothe.

Hemingway & Gellhorn (HBO 7 p.m.) Ernest Hemingway (Clive Owen) romances fellow writer Martha Gellhorn (Nicole Kidman) in this better-looking-then-real-life biopic.

“Annoying Orange” (Cartoon Network 9:30 p.m.) Three years after debuting online, the ubiquitous, “Mr. Bill”-esque web character gets his (“its”?) own series on Cartoon Network.

Tuesday 29

“Alien Surf Girls” (TeenNick 6:30 p.m.) Don’t overthink this teenage sitcom. It does involve space aliens who are both surfers and girls.

“The Catalina” (KWBQ-19 7 p.m.) The CW certainly does like its definitive articles. Here, we go to “The Catalina,” a trendy hotel/bar/restaurant in Miami Beach for a reality-show look at the sexy, drunken, hard-partying young staff.

“American Colony: Meet the Hutterites” (National Geographic 8 p.m.) Until the Duggars have another baby or science can create another Kardashian, we’re stuck handing out reality series to tiny, Amish-like religious colonies in Montana.

Wednesday 30

“Dogs in the City” (KRQE-13 7 p.m.) This self-described “canine reality series” is like “The Dog Whisperer” but … on another network … with a different host … and a different title.
