Thursday 18 “Cast of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air: Where Are They Now?” (TV Guide 7 p.m.) Sitting in their one-bedroom walkups in North Hollywood and quietly seething with jealousy over Will Smith’s career, I’m guessing. … Just kidding. In 2003, Alfonso Ribeiro appeared in a commercial for McDonald’s McGriddle breakfast sandwiches. So, you know, it’s all good. “HowStuffWorks” (Discovery 7 p.m.) Tonight’s topic: beer. Not much of a mystery there, really. You drink it, you get drunk, you say inappropriate things to people of the opposite sex who are clearly outside of your league and then it’s nap time. “Brandon Bets the World” (Travel Channel 9 p.m.) In Travel Channel’s newest series, sports handicapper Brandon Lang travels the world wagering on stuff. So far, Travel Channel pays people to go all over the world and eat, drink cocktails and now gamble. Hey, Travel Channel, how about paying me to travel around the world and hit on attractive foreign women who are clearly out of my league? Friday 19 “The Ricky Gervais Show” (HBO 7 p.m.) Actually, it’s less of a show and more of an animated version of Gervais’ podcast. “Funny or Die Presents” (HBO 10 p.m.) Influential comedy website Funny or Die (founded by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy) premieres this new weekly series featuring outrageous sketches, animations and music videos. Saturday 20 Alien Visitor (IFC 12:30 p.m.) From Australia comes this offbeat sci-fi eco-drama about an alien female who accidentally ends up on Earth—allegedly the crappiest, most polluted planet in the galaxy. Thanks to the guidance of an earnest Outback surveyor, however, she comes to appreciate this lovely little environmental disaster of ours. Sunday 21 “The British Film Academy Awards” (BBC America 6 p.m.) Just like the Academy Awards, only classier. ’Cause it’s British. “Sinbad: Where U Been?” (Comedy Central 11 p.m.) Yeah, where have you been, Sinbad? We haven’t seen you since 1996’s Jingle All the Way . That movie was, uh … Wait a minute. I have a better question: Why U Back? Monday 22 “My Life as Liz” (MTV 11:30 p.m.) MTV’s surprisingly good “My So-Called Life”-meets-“Daria” series kicks off part one of a two-part story-arc sending our high school heroine to prom. Tuesday 23 “Lost” (KOAT-7 7 p.m.) How did ABC trick me into watching “Lost” twice every week? I can’t miss the new episodes at 8 p.m.; and now I’m addicted to watching reruns of last week’s show complete with pop-up annotations in the 7 p.m. slot. Wednesday 24 “Dude, What Would Happen?” (Cartoon Network 9 p.m.) CN continues the non-toon block with the second season premiere of this “Mythbusters”-for-middle-schoolers series. Since it’s aimed at the tween-age set, don’t expect too much science. Using 100 whoopee cushions at once and staging a fight between pirates and Vikings are typical “experiments.”
