Thursday 9

“Food Truck Face Off” (Food Network 6pm) Attention, writers: Can you come up with a slightly different title for a preexisting television reality show that cable stations can stick on their knockoff version? Can you turn “Tattoo Nightmares” into “Tattoo Rescue” or “Tattoo Rescue” into “Bad Ink” or “Bad Ink” into “America’s Worst Tattoos”? Then there may be a job waiting for you in Hollywood. Here, for example, some genius turns “The Great Food Truck Race” into “Food Truck Face Off.”

Friday 10

“Chelsea Handler: Uganda Be Kidding Me Live” (Netflix streaming anytime) Comedienne Chelsea Handler’s new talk show doesn’t start on Netflix until 2016. Here’s a live concert to tide you over until then.

“Genesis: Sum of the Parts” (Showtime 6pm) This history of the famed British rock group proves that things were much weirder when Peter Gabriel was in charge, and that Phil Collins was much better in the band than performing solo.

“Cristela” (KOAT-7 7:30pm) ABC gives diversity a shot with this sitcom about a young law school student caught between her traditional Mexican-American family and her lofty career ambitions.

Saturday 11

A Warden’s Ransom (Lifetime 6pm) A serial killer offers a $50 million bounty to anyone who can break him out of a maximum-security prison. Lifetime Network and pulse-pounding action movies? The perfect match.

Sunday 12

“The Walking Dead” (AMC 7pm) Season 5 premieres, and we finally get to see if the residents of seemingly bucolic Terminal are actually man-eating serial killers. … Yeah, they’re totally man-eating serial killers.

“The Affair” (Showtime 8pm) Joshua Jackson (“Dawson’s Creek”), Ruth Wilson (The Lone Ranger), Dominic West (“The Wire”) and Maura Tierney (“NewsRadio”) star in this weekly drama about the long-term emotional/psychological effects on two very different married couples embroiled in sexual affairs.

Monday 13

“Tiny & Shekinah’s Weave Trip” (VH1 7:30pm) Tiny, of “T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle,” gets a spinoff reality show in which she travels around the country with her hairstylist/best friend promoting their “new mobile hair salon business.”

“Jane the Virgin” (KWBQ-19 8pm) With the exception of “Ugly Betty,” adaptations of Spanish-language telenovelas haven’t been all that successful on American TV. The CW gives it another go, though, with this take on a Venezuelan dramedy about a twentysomething Latina who finds herself accidentally artificially inseminated.

Tuesday 14

“Car Matchmaker” (Esquire 7pm) Former “Seinfeld” writer and talk show host Spike Feresten uses his car knowledge to hook confused car buyers up with a choice of three nice cars. You know, like “House Hunters,” but with cars.

“Marry Me” (KOB-4 8pm) Funny people Casey Wilson (“Happy Endings”) and Ken Marino (former cast member of MTV’s “The State”) join forces in this sitcom about a crazy-for-each-other couple who just can’t seem to figure out how to get engaged.

Wednesday 15

“How We Got To Now” (KNME-5 8pm) Host Steven Johnson talks innovations in drinking water, phones, sewers, subways, time zones and more in this new science series.
