Thursday 16

“The Office” (KOB-4 8 p.m.) NBC’s long-running (long-sucking, to be honest) sitcom signs off with an economy-sized series finale. Among the cameos: Mindy Kaling, B.J. Novak, Joan Cusack and Ed Begley Jr. No official word on Steve Carell’s appearance, but let’s just assume Michael Scott will be there too.

Friday 17

“How Nature Works” (National Geographic 7 p.m.) Follow this with a special called “What Science Is,” and National Geographic can pretty much close up shop.

Saturday 18

“The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2013 Induction Ceremony” (HBO 7 p.m.) This year’s inductees include Heart, Randy Newman, Public Enemy, Rush, Donna Summer and Quincy Jones. Yup, been waiting for that Randy Newman/Public Enemy mash-up for a long time.

Sunday 19

“The 2012 Billboard Music Awards” (KOAT-7 7 p.m.) Tracy Morgan hosts. Prince gets an Icon Award. This ought to be a weird night.

“ACM Presents: Tim McGraw’s Superstar Summer Night” (KRQE-13 8 p.m.) The Academy of Country Music satisfies all your country/rap needs with performances by Taylor Swift, Pitbull, Faith Hill, Ne-Yo, Jason Aldean and Nelly. See what you started, Brad Paisley and LL Cool J?

“North America” (Discovery 7 p.m.) Discovery’s latest multimillion-dollar, high-def, nature-porn series introduces us to the highly photogenic wild animals in our backyards.

“Life Below Zero” (National Geographic 8 p.m.) If you can’t get enough of Alaska-based reality shows, here’s another. Hot on the heels of Nat Geo’s “Ultimate Survival Alaska” comes this series about people living in the remote Alaskan wilderness, battling “whiteout snow storms, man-eating carnivores, questionable frozen terrain and limited resources through a long and bitter winter.”

Monday 20

“The Goodwin Games” (KASA-2 7:30 p.m.) Three estranged siblings—an overachieving surgeon (Scott Foley), a math-whiz-turned-hot-chick (Becki Newton) and a dull-witted con man (T.J. Miller)—return home after their father (Beau Bridges) dies. The three stand to inherit dad’s $20 million fortune—but only if they obey the stipulations in his wacky, competition-minded will.

“Motive” (KOAT-7 9 p.m.) It must be summer, because ABC is airing some Canadian TV series. Kristin Lehman (“The Killing”) stars as a police detective who, you know, solves murders. The twist here: The killer is revealed at the beginning of each show. So you know who did it, you just don’t know why.

Tuesday 21

“The Bachelor’s Funniest Moments” (KOAT-7 7 p.m.) If it was “The Bachelor’s Most Soul-Crushing Moments,” it would have to be a four-hour special.

“Man-Eating Super Squid” (Animal Planet 7 p.m.) Just in time for summer beach weather comes the spearhead of cable TV’s latest plan to scare us into staying home and watching TV instead.

Wednesday 22

“Devoured: Man-Eating Super Snake Returns” (Animal Planet, 7 p.m.) Aaaah! You win, An Plan. I’m staying in the living room this summer.
