Thursday 15 “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” (FX 11 p.m.) For the start of the seventh season, Mac is fat, Frank is marrying a hooker and Charlie is working at a children’s beauty pageant. Good to know “Sunny” is keeping it classy. Friday 16 Carry on TCM (TCM 6 p.m.) Starting in the late ’50s, the Brits produced a series of double-entendre-filled slapstick spoofs known as the Carry on … films. TCM introduces American audiences to the first four: 1958’s Carry on Sergeant , 1959’s Carry on Nurse , 1959’s Carry on Teacher and 1960’s Carry on Constable . There are 25 more. “2011 NCLR ALMA Awards” (KOB-4 7 p.m.) George Lopez, the one Latino everybody knows, hosts this annual award show honoring the artistic achievements of Latinos in television, film and music. You’ve only got an hour, though, George, so hurry it up. “The Clone Wars” (Cartoon Network 9 p.m.) Every time I think this show looks good, I tune in and there’s a damn Jar Jar Binks episode—which sends my George Lucas rage soaring. That said, tonight’s fourth season premiere looks good. … Oh, great, here comes Jar Jar. Saturday 17 “Funny as Hell” (BBC America 9 p.m.) This two-part special, spotlighting the best stand-up comedians from the U.K. and beyond, was filmed live at the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal. Sunday 18 Planet Rock: The Story of Hip Hop and the Crack Generation (VH1 8 p.m.) The late-’80s/early-’90s crack epidemic killed thousands of people, caused millions of dollars in damage and all but ravaged our inner cities. On the plus side, we got New Jack City . Monday 19 “Two and a Half Men” (KRQE-13 8 p.m.) I’m as tired of Charlie Sheen as everyone. On the other hand, I never liked Ashton Kutcher. Fortunately, I can’t stand this show—so problem solved. “2 Broke Girls” (KRQE-13 8:30 p.m.) Kat Dennings ( Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Thor ) and new girl Beth Behrs play a streetwise chick and an impoverished trust fund princess working as waitresses in this sitcom created by the suddenly overworked Whitney Cummings. “The Playboy Club” (KOB-4 9 p.m.) Yup, Gloria Steinem is still pissed. “The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen” (Comedy Central 11 p.m.) If only he had given these poor comedians something to work with. Tuesday 20 “New Girl” (KASA-2 8 p.m.) The girlfriend every self-respecting hipster wants, Zooey Deschanel, headlines as a heartbroken gal who moves in with a trio of male roommates. “Unforgettable” (KRQE-13 9 p.m.) Poppy Montgomery (“Without a Trace”) stars as a police detective with photographic memory. So … you know, no tedious scenes of her taking notes. Wednesday 21 “The X Factor” (KASA-2 7 p.m.) Wondering what the difference will be between “American Idol” starring Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul and “X Factor” starring Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul? Easy: On “American Idol,” they drank Coke; on “X Factor,” they’ll drink Pepsi. “Revenge” (KOAT-7 9 p.m.) Emily VanCamp (“Everwood”) stars as an angry gal who returns to the Hamptons to exact revenge on the snooty jerkwads who destroyed her father. I’m guessing she sucks at this, because the story’s got a drag on for a of couple seasons at least.
