Thursday 29 “How to be a Gentleman” (KRQE-13 7:30 p.m.) Kevin Dillon (“Entourage”) and David Hornsby (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”) star as a manly personal trainer and an uptight journalist in this “Odd Couple”-esque comedy based (really freaking loosely) on the best-selling etiquette guide by John Bridges. Friday 30 Love Affair, or the Case of the Missing Switchboard Operator (TCM 12 a.m.) TCM reaches deep into the recesses of cult cinema for this 1967 doozy by Yugoslavian filmmaker Dusan Makavejev ( Sweet Movie, Montenegro ). There’s no real point in describing it. You’ll just have to experience the whole surreal, sarcastic, profane thing for yourself. Drugs may or may not help. Saturday 1 “Weird Al Yankovic Live! The Alpocalypse Tour” (Comedy Central 10 p.m.) It’s a sad sign of aging when you no longer recognize the songs Weird Al is parodying. “Bedlam” (BBC America 8 p.m.) The Beeb’s newest Supernatural Saturday addition is set in a haunted-asylum-turned-apartment-building. Think “Melrose Place” with ghosts. “Celebrity Nightmares Decoded” (Bio 8 p.m.) Ever wonder about the symbolic meaning of dreams celebrities like Stephen Baldwin and Adrianne Curry have? … Jeez, I feel stupid for even asking. Sunday 2 “Making Monsters” (Travel Channel 6 p.m.) To kick off the month of Halloween, the Wheel of Blue Collar Jobs That Don’t Have Reality Shows Yet lands on a Greeley, Colo., company that manufactures animatronic displays for haunted houses and other fright attractions. “Prohibition” (KNME-5 7 p.m.) Ken Burns gives America’s longest hangover the “Civil War” treatment. “Homeland” (Showtime 8 p.m.) Police officers, firefighters, lawyers and doctors have been worked to death on television. Isn’t it time Homeland Security started pulling its own weight in the TV drama landscape? “China, IL” (Cartoon Network 1 a.m.) The clueless staff of a crappy community college try to deal with students and each other in this new animated sitcom from creator Brad Neely (“Creased Comics”). Monday 3 “A Night at the Movies: The Horrors of Stephen King” (TCM 9:30 p.m.) Horror master Stephen King sits down for some personal reflections and a whole bunch of movie clips in this retrospective of both his films and the scary movies that influenced him. Tuesday 4 “Mad Fashion” (Bravo 7 p.m.) Outrageous “Project Runway” loser Chris March gets his own show, creating crazy clothes for drag queens or people who want to look like drag queens. Wednesday 5 George Harrison: Living in the Material World (HBO 7 p.m.) Everybody’s fourth favorite Beatle gets the documentary treatment courtesy of Martin Scorsese. “American Horror Story” (FX 11 p.m.) Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk (“Nip/Tuck,” “Glee”) get scary with this freaky, fetishistic haunted house story starring Dylan McDermott, Connie Britton, Jessica Lange and Frances Conroy. “Penn & Teller Tell a Lie” (Discovery 8 p.m.) In this six-part follow-up to “Penn & Teller: Bullshit!,” the snarky magicians spin a series of unbelievable tales—all of which are true, except one. Your job is to guess which one.
