![]() | ABQ Beer GeekWhat’s Tappening![]() Chama’s special taps are at the ready. Time for another roundup of what’s being poured at your favorite local breweries. But first, exciting local news: Il Vicino Brewery has leased space to build a brewery at Stanford and Aztec after losing its lease at the Vassar location. Former Chama brewer Jeff Erway had a brewing line trucked in from Ohio and is a baby step closer to opening his own brewery. Baby steps. His wife is pregnant. Here’s your tap list and notes from the experts, before this turns into a damn gossip column. Il Vicino Brewery, Brady McKeown Vienna Lager: “Made with Munich and Vienna malts and Tettnanger hops, this Amber Lager drinks easy without sacrificing flavor.” 4.5 percent ABV Simcoe Pale Ale: “100 percent Simcoe hops make for an aromatic, hoppy pale that could double as an IPA.” 6.5 percent ABV Coffee Stout: “English chocolate and crystal malts combine with Australian coffee to wire you with this light and drinkable stout.” 4.7 percent ABV Turtle Mountain, Mark Matheson Yankee Stout: “This stout is smooth, yet has chocolate overtones on the palate.
